Yan Wang-Eng is currently a ninth grade math teacher at the High School of Language and Innovation. She attended New York University where she received a B.A. in Mathematics (2006) and an M.A. in Secondary Mathematics Education (2007). She had previously taught ninth grade to twelfth grade at another high school in the Bronx. She was an adjunct lecturer at Bronx Community College where she taught remedial and college-credit math courses for two years. Yan believes that every student can be academically successful when provided a learning environment that allows them to do so, and she believes that she, as a teacher, is responsible for creating and maintaining that environment.
